James Carroll Cagle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 83.
James was born on July 22, 1943, in Arlington, Texas, to James Campbell Cagle and Ruby Cagle. A lifelong resident of Arlington, James was deeply rooted in the community he called home and devoted much of his life to serving and protecting the people around him.
James graduated from Arlington High School and went on to dedicate 27 years of his life to the Arlington Police Department. His career in law enforcement was a reflection of his strong character, compassion, courage, and commitment to others. He served his community with pride and professionalism, leaving behind a legacy of service that will not soon be forgotten.
Above all, James cherished his family. He was the devoted husband of Sara Lynn Cagle, with whom he shared a life filled with love, family, and memories that will be treasured forever. He was a loving father to James Casey Cagle and Kimberly Ann Cagle Kaderka.
James took great joy in being a grandfather to Dylann Kaderka and Bailee Kaderka Rosario, and he was blessed with a beautiful great-granddaughter, Isla Rosario. His family was his greatest source of pride, and the love he gave them will continue through the generations.
Those who knew James will remember him not only for his years of service, but for the person he was-a man who cared deeply, loved his family fiercely, and made a lasting difference in the lives of others. His presence brought strength, love, and a sense of security to those fortunate enough to know him.
James leaves behind a legacy measured not only in the years he lived, but in the lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in his wife, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family, friends, and in the Arlington community he served so faithfully.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mission Arlington, an organization dedicated to serving those in need in the community James called home.
James Carroll Cagle will be remembered, honored, and loved always. His life was a gift to his family and his community, and his legacy of love and service will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
