Homer W. Heinzman

Homer Heinzman, our family’s rock, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 9 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the funeral home with a burial to follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale, Texas.

He had that grin—the kind that started in his eyes and took over the whole room. A genius with a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Homer was a defense-industry heavyweight who quietly helped win wars most of us never heard about. From his years of traveling the world, he collected photographs, souvenirs, and passport stamps—each one a story, each one a treasure.

Then came Dorothy Linguist—his world, retreat, and forever home. Together they lovingly raised three remarkable children: Linda, Gregg, and Scott—three distinct and powerful lives. Linda left us far too soon. Gregg and Sherri made their home in Mansfield, Scott and Mary made theirs in Chicago.

The children gave Homer and Dorothy five precious grandchildren: Stephanie and husband Mat, Ashley and husband Erik, Preston and wife Andrea, Sara and husband Shawn, and Leah.

Those grandchildren blessed them with ten precious great-grandchildren who lit up every room with Homer’s same bright smile—and an eleventh is joyfully on the way soon.

Oh, that big, bright smile whenever his family or friends walked through the door—and an even bigger heart that wrapped itself around his multitudes of dearly loved family, friends, and every soul he ever met. Kind to all, he wired us together with a love that will never dim.

Now he rests on a heavenly circuit, waiting with open arms for the rest of us that he left behind.
