It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Herbert Werner Forster, who left this world on January 22, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. Born on June 7, 1960, in Munich, Germany, Herb was the beloved son of Karl and Therse Forster. After moving to the United States, he embraced his new home wholeheartedly, bringing with him a warmth and kindness that touched everyone he met.
Herb dedicated 23 years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad, working as a trackman. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and loyalty to his coworkers. He took great pride in his role and formed lasting friendships throughout his years in the railroad industry—relationships that reflected his generous and dependable nature.
For 21 wonderful years, Herb was married to his beloved wife, Patti. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Herb was a devoted husband who found joy in bringing people together, especially through his cooking and legendary barbecues. His passion for food was evident in every meal he prepared, and those fortunate enough to sit at his table will always remember the warmth that came with it. He and Patti also shared a love for travel, particularly cruising, where they explored new destinations and created cherished memories side by side. While Herb and Patti did not have children, they did have Max and Bruno, their beloved dachshunds. Herb had a special connection with not just his furry friends, but others as well. He was always able to capture the best pictures.
Herb is survived by his cherished wife, Patti; his brothers, Sigfried Forster and Walter Forster. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Helmut Forster.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life honoring Herbert will be held on March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to remember, reflect, and celebrate the life he so beautifully lived.
