Hans Werner Bryson, 75, of Arlington, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 4:24am. Born January 30, 1951, in Corsicana, Texas to Maurice R. Bryson and Wilma Lieb Bryson, Hans was raised in Arlington and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1969.
In 1970, he joined the Dallas Police Department, serving honorably for more than 38½ years until his retirement in October 2009. Known for his expertise in recovering stolen 18-wheelers and cargo trailers, Hans earned numerous commendations and awards throughout his distinguished career, and the deep respect of his fellow officers. Even in retirement, he remained closely connected to his law enforcement family.
Above all, Hans was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Bryson; his twin sons, Kyle Bryson and wife Heidi of Waxahachie and Kevin Bryson and wife Lori of Arlington; his daughter, Katie Cripe and husband Tyler of Midlothian; his brother, Tom Bryson of California; and four cherished grandchildren, Gunner Bryson, Hunter Bryson, Presley Bryson and Kadence Cripe.
A devoted Christian and longtime member of First Baptist Church Red Oak, Hans lived his faith daily. He loved hunting, Texas Rangers baseball, storytelling and time spent at the family ranch, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
Hans will be remembered as a dedicated officer, loving husband and father, proud grandfather and a man of unwavering faith. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
