Guillermo Jimenez

Guillermo Jimenez, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, engineer, Navy reservist and friend, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 90 years old.

Guillermo was born on September 26, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to Ruben Jimenez, Sr. and Felipe Narvaez Jimenez. He grew up in San Antonio, where he learned the importance of hard work at an early age while helping at the Conoco gas station his father owned.

Guillermo pursued higher education at St. Mary's University and later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in aerospace engineering. He began his professional training through an apprenticeship at Kelly Air Force Base and went on to build a distinguished career as an engineer. Throughout the years, he worked for the Pentagon, LTV and General Dynamics. His career also took him to Washington, D.C., where he maintained 2 condominiums and his home in Fort Worth, TX while working at the Pentagon.

Guillermo proudly served for five years in the United States Navy Reserve. His military service and engineering career reflected his intelligence, discipline and commitment to serving his country.

Athletic and highly competitive, Guillermo was an exceptional racquetball player and participated on racquetball teams throughout the years. His idea of warming up before a match was to run 10 miles, a testament to the outstanding physical condition he maintained.

Although he enjoyed competition, Guillermo also knew how to relax. He loved spending time at the lake with his Daughter and Son-in-law Frank. On on their boat with a fishing pole in hand, though catching fish was never required for him to enjoy the day. He was perfectly content sitting peacefully with a little whiskey in his coffee mug and taking in the surroundings.

Guillermo remained deeply connected to San Antonio throughout his life and enjoyed returning to visit family. He loved the River Walk, and La Margarita and Mi Tierra were among his favorite restaurants. A good cheese chile relleno was always a welcome meal.

He also loved the coast and looked forward to trips to Galveston each summer. Florida was another favorite destination, and he was always happiest near the water.

Guillermo had a passion for sports cars. Among his favorites was his white 1967 Alfa Romeo, a car he loved dearly, as well as his Nissan 370Z. His appreciation for automobiles reflected his adventurous spirit and love of performance and design.

For 18 years, Guillermo enjoyed living in downtown Fort Worth. He embraced the energy of city life, enjoyed trying new restaurants and always appreciated a good time.

A true foodie, Guillermo enjoyed exploring many different cuisines. Indian and Mediterranean foods were among his favorites, though he was always willing to try something new.

He was also an enthusiastic University of Texas football fan and enjoyed following politics and current events. He regularly watched Fox News and liked staying informed about what was happening in the world.

Guillermo had many interests. He enjoyed video poker, was an excellent chess player and appreciated firearms, particularly pistols. He was a thoughtful strategist, both at the chessboard and in life.

One of the greatest lessons Guillermo gave his children was the importance of financial responsibility. He taught them the value of a dollar, the importance of planning ahead and the benefit of making wise decisions. These practical lessons became an important part of the legacy he passed down to his family.

Despite his many accomplishments and interests, Guillermo will be remembered most for his calm and easygoing nature. He never yelled or raised his voice. He was friendly, laughed often and had a warm personality that naturally drew people to him.

He also knew how to listen. Guillermo gave his family his full attention and made them feel heard and valued. His daughter, Arlene, especially treasured memories of lying beneath the stars with her father and talking about life. Those quiet conversations reflected the patience, wisdom and closeness they shared.

Guillermo was laid-back, kind and full of life. He enjoyed people, good food, travel, competition, conversation and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Ellis; his former wife, Sofie Jimenez; his parents, Ruben Jimenez, Sr. and Felipe Jimenez; and his brother, Ruben Jimenez, Jr.

Guillermo is survived by his daughter, Arlene Kim and husband, Frank; his son-in-law, Jimmy Ellis; his brothers, Robert Jimenez and wife, Vera, and Eddie Jimenez and wife, Margie; his grandchildren, Stacy Ellis, Rory Ellis, David LeMoine, Jamie Ellis, Stephanie Mendez and JWilliam Ellis; as well as his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.

Guillermo leaves behind a legacy of hard work, wisdom, laughter and calm strength. He will be remembered as a man who lived fully, listened carefully, planned wisely and always made time for the people he loved.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. A cryptside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park.
