Francisco Xavier Perez

Francisco Xavier Perez, age 58, peacefully entered into the presence of his Savior on Monday, August 4th, with family by his side. He was born in Brownsville, Texas to Amalio and Maria Carmen Perez. Francisco loved deeply. He cherished time with his family and friends and always put God and loved ones first. His generosity and thoughtfulness were unmatched. He treasured the simple joys: a good laugh with the guys, a strong cocktail, a sunset drive, or a quiet prayer.

Francisco lived a life full of joy, generosity, and genuine presence. He was a man of impeccable taste with a witty sense of humor. He had a gift for making people laugh when they needed it most. Whether you were sharing a quiet moment, or a spontaneous adventure, Francisco made you feel like you were exactly where you were meant to be.

He had a deep love for travel and the open road, with Texas always holding a special place in his heart, especially the wide skies and rugged beauty of Big Bend. He was never more alive than when he was on the move, exploring, wandering, and savoring every new experience with the spirit of someone truly “on top of the world.”

Francisco was an artist in the kitchen, not just a cook, but a creator who poured love into every dish. Cooking wasn’t just something he did; it was how he expressed care, celebration, and connection. Meals with Francisco were never rushed, they were rich with laughter, stories, second helpings, and always, something sweet at the end.

Francisco was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Carmen Perez (†), sister, Melida Perez Lopez (†); and father, Amalio Perez (†). Francisco is survived by his wife, Teresa Perez; daughter, Alexandria Perez; son-in-law, Jeremy Sunday; grandchildren, Sunnie and Jud Perez Sunday; brother, Amalio Perez II; sister, Monica Demenjon; sister-in-law, Amie Perez; brother-in-law, Miguel Demenjon; nieces, Sasha Demenjon and Stella Perez; nephews, Josh Perez, Cesar Lopez, and Amalio Perez III; stepdaughter, Brittney Stewart; and stepson-in-law, Avery Stewart.
