Ernestine White Daw "Mama Dude"

Ernestine White Daw, Age 92, of New Orleans, Louisiana and Arlington, Texas, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025. 

Born in Tillar, Arkansas on May 8, 1933. Ernestine was the beloved daughter of the late Evalena Ford McDonald. 

Ernestine was baptized at an early age, by Reverand T. H. Turner in Saint Joseph, Louisiana. 

She was proceeded in death by her sons, Ronnie Daw Sr. and Calvin Daw. 

Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children; Lera W. Brown, Robert Daw Jr., Alvin Daw, Lonnie Daw Sr. (Olive), Renee Daw, Bobby Broussard Jr. (Patricia), and Step-Daughters Bernita Daw, Katrina Daw-Smith, and Audrey Ellis. 

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren - Along with a host of loving friends and extended family. 

Affectionately known as "Mama Dude", Ernestine was deeply rooted in her faith, fiercely loved her family, Mama Dude was a pretty good basketball player (The Lefty) and was a passionate New Orleans Saints fan. She enjoyed spending time watching Jerry Springer and Judge Judy. Always with a smile and a sense of humor. Her strength, love, and unforgettable spirit will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
