Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Liz Meyer Wagner, passed away on June 19,2025, after a short illness. She was 95.
Liz was the heart of the home and family. Born on March 19, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Anthony and Anna Meyer. She was the youngest of seven children; Gladys (Meyer) White, Alvin Meyer, Mary Rita (Meyer) Kramer, Jerome Meyer, Richard Meyer, and Phillip Meyer.
She attended St. Anthony Elementary School and graduated from the all-girls high school of Julienne in Dayton, Ohio. Living there until meeting her future husband and the love of her life on a blind date. She married Francis Joseph Wagner of Chicago, Illinois at a Spring wedding in 1954. They were deeply in love and devoted themselves to each other. They were married 65 years before Frank's passing.
She is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Ann Lee (Jestwin), Bill (Jan), Marie Wagner Hutchinson, Tony (Lisa), Patricia Boosa (Greg), Edward (Sami) and Kenneth Wagner.
Liz also had 16 grandchildren; Laura (Lee) Baker and Jeremiah, Jesse Lee and Brittney, Katherine (Lee) Escobar and Antonio; John (Ryan) Hutchinson and Deanna, Christopher (Kyle) Hutchinson, Carly, Andrew Hutchinson, Eric Wagner and Paula, Ryan Wagner, Mark Wagner, Luke Wagner, Ashley (Boosa) Janssen and Andrew, Charles Boosa and Jasmine, Trevor Wagner and Ashley, Clayton Wagner and Victoria, Garrett Wagner and Chris, Mackenzie (Wagner) Guillory. Along with 15 great-grandchildren, and a number of loving relatives and friends. All of whom will remember her loving spirit. She was adored by all her nieces and nephews. She said they always made her feel very loved and special.
The Catholic faith was a central and driving force of her life, always guiding her. She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she was an Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to the sick and homebound from 1980 to 2018.
She and Frank traveled to multiple countries and destinations until his passing in 2019. Always enjoying each other's company and seeing the world together. In her later years she cherished her neighborhood Bunco group and attended the church BINGO luncheons. She always kept close to the old neighbors from the family's time on Freeman Ct. loving the neighborhood coffees and gatherings. She was active in various bridge clubs and had a special love of playing card games with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
