Elaine Frances Sleiminger

Elaine Frances Yetter Sleiminger, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Arlington, TX, at the home of her daughter, on Friday, August 15, 2025. She was 97 spunky years old. Elaine was born on December 4, 1927, to Charles and Blanche (Roy) Yetter, in Lower Merion Township, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.

Elaine attended Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, PA. Immediately after graduation, Elaine was hired by Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia, as a switchboard operator. She worked in a variety of positions with Bell until her retirement in 1987. Elaine was a picket carrying member of the Union and an activist for women’s rights and environmental protection. She had a beautiful spirit for travel. She loved sharing her tales of adventure with the family, creating memories we will carry forever.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Theodore L. Sleiminger, her father, Charles Yetter, and mother, Blanche Roy Yetter, and her baby sister, Kathleen.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Fowler of Arlington, TX, sons Theodore (Barbara) Sleiminger of Mantua, NJ, and David (Tammy) Sleiminger of Sewell, NJ, Grandchildren; Tracey Seibt (Rooster Floyd) of Arlington, TX, Stacey (Patrick) Gillies of Arlington, TX, Jeff Howell, of Arlington, TX, Karen (Barry) Jost of Sewell, NJ, Lisa (Jason) Quartullo of Mickelton, NJ, David (Allison) Sleiminger of Sewell, NJ and Great Grandchildren, Caitlin (Miguel) Jaime of Arlington, TX, Colin, Logan and Ryan Sleiminger of Sewell, NJ, and Everly and Levi Quartullo of Mickelton, NJ. She is also survived by many special friends in both TX and NJ.

The family would like to thank the loving care Mom received from her caregivers and nurses from Tender Heart Hospice, in particular, Kristi and Nancy, and for the extraordinary care givers provided by Care Builders, Connie, Janett, YaYa, Jemila and Ola.

Honoring the wishes of our beloved Mother, cremation arrangements are being made by Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. Later her remains will be transported to NJ to join her beloved husband on the fireplace mantle in their home in Cape May. Details on a Celebration of Life will be forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s memory to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children.
