Dorris “Jean” Moody Glass passed away September 19, 2024.
Celebration of Life Services to be held at St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church, 5450 Mansfield Rd., Arlington, TX 76017 on Monday, September 30th at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington Women’s Shelter.
Jean was born May 14, 1932, to the late Zephie King Moody and Oma Dee Moody in Saltillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands Franklin G. Schad and A. Manson Glass.
Jean graduated from Saltillo High School in 1950. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from North Texas University. She was a World traveler to over sixty countries, a self-taught artist, an elementary school teacher at both Pope Elementary and South Davis, a member of the Arlington Women’s Club, Encore, Suburban Club, Retired Teachers Association and loved to garden and paint.
Jean is survived by and will be greatly missed by her four children, Diana Voss, John Schad, Sharon Schad-Cummins, Laura Allen, nine surviving grandchildren Shawna Marie Leist, Melissa Ann Davis, Nathaniel Farrar Voss, Allyson Blaire Reynoso, Tiffany Linn Allen, Melody Gail Allen, Patricia Brianna Schad, Craig Madison Schad, Alexander Mitchell Voss, and Kenley Louis Leist who proceeded her in death. Fourteen surviving great grandchildren, Mackinzie Nicole Leist, Hunter Bradly Davis, Caiden Wayne Davis, Lacey Katherine Bathhurst, Evelyn Renee Allen, Gage Lee Brown, Peyton Andrea Armendariz, Bryson Chad Woods, Leon Adrian Ibarra, Jayda Jean Elizabeth Reynoso, Rylee Ann Marie Reynoso, Nicholas Farrar Voss, Conner Lee Voss, Asher Anthony Voss, several nieces and nephews, her brother Richard Moody proceeded her in death.
