Known to some as Pastor Donovan, Pastor D, or most commonly Dad & Brother, my Dad was born in Jamaica on July 1st, 1962. He truly was a man of great faith who loved his family and yes even dem Cowboys.
Though battling illness for the past 2 years, he was a joyful boisterous father who cared deeply for his family and his friends. Having an unwavering passion for the Lord and a graceful heart he made sure to express his love and admiration towards the Father through cooking, preaching the Word of YHWH, and laughter. His life exemplified how a man against unfavorable odds can still spread and impact so many lives through happiness, compassion, and encouragement.
He leaves to honor his memory his father Wincent Henry, his mother Nora Grant, Sophia Henry, his wife of 41 years, eldest son Shawn Henry, daughter Stephanie Henry, youngest son Daniel Henry, grandchildren, Eden Grace, Qshawn, Shanaya & Jshawn, as well as his sisters, brother-in-laws and nieces & nephews who loved him dearly.
Passing on August 22nd, 2024 that infectious, wondrous laughter will be missed but cherished. Dad you were one of the greats and your legacy will never fade away. You will forever be our Dad, brother to many, Uncle, Pastor Donovan, Pastor D and mom’s beloved. Rest well until we see you in the New Jerusalem.
In lieu of flowers the family requests you consider a monetary gift for the family to help towards any immediate expenses or needs they will have in the coming days and weeks.
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” John 3:16
