Dominic DiBattista

Dominic (Nick) DiBattista, born on April 11, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born and raised in Hartford, Nick proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

Nick's love for the pizza business began at an early age, learning the art of pizza making from his father, Corrado (Corky) DiBattista, in the family's pizzeria. In 1976, Nick opened his own pizzeria in Hartford, naming it Corky's in honor of his father. He worked alongside his then-wife, Maryann, and their children, Domenic and Darlene.

Years later, Nick moved to Texas to be with his wife, Michele, where he opened Corky's in 2002. He shared his knowledge and love of pizza making with Michele and her son, Andrew. Today, Michele and Andrew continue that legacy, preserving the recipes, craftsmanship, and traditions Nick passed down to them.

Nick's love for his wife, Michele, was one of the great joys of his life. He spoke often and proudly of how much he loved her, making sure those around him knew just how much she meant to him.

Nick was a man of deep Christian faith who loved the Lord and was never hesitant to share his beliefs with others. He often spoke to those around him about the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found great comfort in the promise of eternal life.

Nick is survived by his loving wife, Michele; his children, Domenic DiBattista, Darlene (John) Fleming, Kelley Streichert, and Andrew (Jerushah) Streichert; his eight grandchildren, Samuel Fleming, Luke Fleming, Thomas DiBattista, Ruby Rose Fleming, Bryan DiBattista, Jaxson Morton, Juniper Streichert, and Oak Streichert; and his sister, Susan (Steve) Fleischman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corrado (Corky) and Marie DiBattista, and his infant son, Anthony DiBattista.

Nick will be laid to rest with military honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

His family takes comfort in knowing that Nick is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
