David G. Urwiller

March 12, 1947 — September 8, 2025

Arlington

David Gene Urwiller, age 78, passed away in Arlington, Texas on September 8, 2025 and heard his Savior say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”. David was born on March 12, 1947 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Mearl Henry Urwiller and Delores Lola (Hendrickson) Urwiller, who preceded him in death.

David graduated from Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University) in 1971 earning a BS in accounting. Following his education, David pursued his passion for building and craftmanship as a home builder and remodeler. He later became a high-end cabinet maker and co-owned a Cabinet shop. One of proudest accomplishments was designing, drafting the plans and building his family’s home in Hastings, Nebraska.

David had a lifelong love of woodworking, reading, motorcycles, hunting, hiking, and western history. Friends and family remember him as hardworking, a steadfast believer in God and a staunch conservative.

He faithfully attended Christ Chapel Bible Church where he actively served in the choir and home group. His dedication to serving the church community was also recognized at Arlington First Church of the Nazarene, where he received the Distinguished Service Award. His craftmanship lives on through many of his projects there, including the altars, risers and bookcases. He also served by singing in the choir and praise team at Arlington First.

Beyond his church service, David was a proud member of the NRA and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a strong advocate for the 2nd Amendment.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; daughter, Diana Urwiller; son, Brent Urwiller; brother, Gary (Carmen) Urwiller; and sister, Judy (Doug) Litzey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
