In Loving Memory of Dan Moody Webster September 28, 1936 – July 1, 2026
Dan Moody Webster Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 28, 1936, in Asheville, North Carolina, Dan lived a rich life full of playfulness, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Dan was the beloved son of Verna Kooles and Dan Moody Webster Sr. who taught him the values of independence and hard work that he carried with him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1959, Dan spent many years in service to his country. Following his military career, he had many chapters in his work life, his favorite of which was his time teaching at the Texas A&M Extension Service, where he dedicated many years before retiring.
Above all else, Dan loved his wife, Linda Webster, as well as his family. He was a proud and loving father to Sarah Webster, Cameron Webster, Deborah Webster, Mark (Jodie) Gray, Michele (Nick) DiBattista, and Vanessa Gray.
He was also a treasured grandfather to Elan Hebert, Jonah Hebert, Kelley Streichert, Andrew (Jerushah) Streichert, Emily Gray, Josh (Valerie) Gray, Jessica Arthur, Jason Gray, and great-grandfather to Jaxson Morton, Juniper Streichert, and Oak Streichert. His family will forever remember the quiet strength, wisdom and love that he shared so generously.
Outside of his professional life, Dan embraced hobbies that brought him happiness and connected him with those around him. He loved spending peaceful days fishing, cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Rams, and flying model airplanes. Whether outdoors by the water, gathered around the television during football season, or enjoying the precision of his model aircraft, Dan found joy in life's everyday moments.
Those who knew Dan will remember him as a man of charm, intelligence and humor. He loved discourse and debate, as well as a good joke, and was quick with a hug or a word of encouragement whenever needed. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so fiercely.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to The Salvation Army in Dan's honor.
Though he is no longer with us, Dan's love, wisdom, and spirit of play will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
