Cruz Ramos

Cruz “Cruzita” Ramos, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of those who cherished her. Known by everyone who loved her as “Cruzita,” she will forever be remembered as one of the sweetest people anyone could ever meet.

Cruzita was born on March 6, 1960, in Brownsville, Texas, to Cruz Soto and Alma Jimenez. She grew up surrounded by family and carried the values of love, loyalty, faith, and caring for others throughout her life. She graduated from Gladys Porter High School in Brownsville as a member of the Class of 1978 and later continued her education at Texas Southmost College, where she earned her Associate's Degree.

Cruzita devoted her life to caring for her family and home. She was a loving wife to her husband, Rodolfo “Rudy” Ramos Jr., and a proud and devoted mother to her children, Justine Amanda Ramos and Rodolfo Ramos III. One of the greatest joys of her life was being a grandmother to Aliyah Hanna Ramos and Rodolfo Ramos IV. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially coloring together and creating memories that her family will cherish forever.

She was also a beloved sister to Corina Hernandez, Santos Rocha, Miguel Jimenez, and Lola Lopez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Jimenez, as well as her siblings, Estela Rodriguez and Steven Jimenez.

Cruzita was known as a loving wife, the best mom, a devoted grandmother, a wonderful friend, and a caring big sister. She was loyal, patient, caring, resilient, and loved others with all her heart. As a former Navy wife and proud American, she carried a deep sense of pride for her family and country.

She enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. Cruzita loved pop and dance music, enjoyed shopping at her favorite store, Walmart, and was a faithful viewer of telenovelas. She also had a special love for animals and shared a special connection with her loyal dog, Enzo. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and creating meaningful traditions that brought everyone together.

A devout Catholic and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cruzita was strong in her faith and found comfort and guidance in her relationship with God. Her faith was an important part of her life and helped shape the loving, compassionate person she was.

Cruzita always taught her family the importance of staying connected, honoring family traditions, and caring for one another. She was truly the center of her family, a source of love, strength, comfort, and kindness. Her absence will be deeply felt, but the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on through all those who knew and loved her.

She will be remembered not only for the many roles she held in life but for the beautiful heart she gave so freely to others. Cruzita was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial with honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Cruzita's memory to Saving Hope Animal Rescue, the organization where her beloved and loyal dog, Enzo, was adopted.
