With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cora Ann Cima, a beloved wife, mother, educator and nurse. Cora passed away on September 12, 2024, at her residence in Denton, TX, with her caring husband, Michael, by her side. She was born on October 22, 1951, in Bloomington, Il, to her parents Willie and Erma Schmoekel.
Cora lived many lives that include that of a teacher, a nurse, a student, a caring mother and loving wife. Everything she touched, she did so with passion and focus to make the world and lives around her better. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, knowledge and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Cora is survived by her son, Christopher and her loving husband, Michael, who stood by her side through life’s joys and challenges. Cora’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In honor of Cora’s life and legacy, a funeral service and celebration of her accomplishments will be held at Wade Funeral Home. Family, friends, former students, colleagues, and patients are invited to join together to pay their respects and share cherished memories of Cora. The service will be a tribute to Cora’s love of learning, teaching and helping others.
As we remember a woman who pursued so many passions in life, the scripture Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 is a fitting tribute to Cora’s time with us.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…”
As we bid farewell to Cora, let us remember her laughter, her wisdom, and the love shared with all. May her spirit live on in the memories we hold dear and may we find solace in knowing she now rests peacefully. Cora Ann Cima will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light and love.
