Christine Michelangela Carbone, 70, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey, to Frank Victor and Concetta Imperiale Carbone.
Christine moved with her family to Dallas in 1965 and graduated from Richardson High School. Determined to make her mark on the world, she went straight to work, never completing a college degree. What she possessed could not be taught in any institution: an extraordinary creativity, a keen eye, and a natural love for food and people.
Her life was filled with a passion for family, food, and wine—values passed down by her parents. Christine owned and operated The Good Life, a small Dallas restaurant, for a time. She also shared her talents with The Dallas Morning News and D Magazine as a food stylist, with her work appearing in many Morning News food sections and on magazine covers. Her experience earned her a respected place in Dallas’s culinary community, where she served as a consultant to many upscale restaurants. In 1995, Christine received a Katie Award from the Press Club of Dallas for Visual Communications & Studio Photography.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind siblings, Frances Grumbein (Dary), Judy Behlau (Edward), and Suzanne Carbone. She also leaves behind nieces Katie Boyanton (David) and Bethany Dorn (James), and four great-nieces and nephews – all of whom she adored: Matthew Boyanton (Brandi), Allison Boyanton, Ruby Dorn, and Ryan Dorn.
Chris lived her life without fear, knowing she could accomplish whatever she set her mind to. She was a sister to us and the neighborhood kids, a teacher to us all, a friend to many, a caretaker to some, and a true legend in her own time. Christine is deeply missed and will be forever.
