Christiana Ngozi Adenaike

In Loving Memory of Christiana Ngozi Adenaike: April 6, 1954 – October 22, 2025

Our hearts are heavy, but our memories are full as we celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved Christiana Ngozi Adenaike — a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, nurse, and true woman of God who touched every life she encountered with love, compassion, and faith.

Born on April 6, 1954, Christiana lived a life dedicated to serving others. She began her journey as a home health aide and later became a nurse, a calling she faithfully fulfilled for more than 30 years. Caring for people wasn’t just what she did — it was who she was. She gave of herself freely, treating every patient with kindness and dignity. Often, she would care for those who couldn’t afford it simply because her heart wouldn’t allow her to turn anyone away. Her hands were healing, but her heart was the true source of her care.

In 1974, Christiana married the love of her life, Johnson Adenaike, and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Johnson always said he knew she was the one from the moment he saw her — even though she laughed and told him he was crazy! Their love was built on faith, humor, and deep respect, standing strong through every season of their lives.

Christiana was a woman of unshakable faith. She loved God deeply and lived her life according to His word. She was funny, outspoken, and honest — she told it like it was, but always with love and wisdom. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence could light up any room. She loved to attend parties, share jokes, and enjoy life to the fullest.

When Christiana first came to the United States, she and Johnson devoted themselves to working hard and exploring the world together. She loved traveling, learning about new cultures, and embracing every adventure.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — tending to her garden, where she grew everything from okra to tomatoes, or cooking her famous okra soup and turkey necks that everyone adored. Her daughter especially loved her egusi soup and hen stew, recipes passed down from mother to daughter through hours of laughter and cooking side by side. Christiana also enjoyed music, movies, and being outdoors, but above all, she cherished her family.

Her daughter Monique was the center of her world. The two shared an incredible bond — from movie nights and laughter-filled conversations to watching their favorite show Sista's, they were truly best friends. Christiana also shared a very special relationship with her niece, Marcelina, who was like another daughter to her. Marcelina came into her life ten years before Monique, and Christiana loved and cared for her as her own. Inspired by her aunt’s compassion and dedication, Marcelina followed in her footsteps and became a nurse — a true reflection of the legacy Christiana leaves behind.

Christiana’s love was limitless. She poured it into her family, her friends, her patients, and everyone who crossed her path. Her strength, faith, and humor carried those around her through life’s challenges, and her memory will continue to do the same.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of over 50 years, Johnson Adenaike; her cherished daughter Monique; her beloved niece Marcelina; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Christiana is also survived by her loving siblings'. Donatus Iriele, Roselyn Iriele Iwuh, Ferdinand Iriele, Kate Iriele, Sylvia Iriele, Phylicia Iriele, Bart Iriele, Stanley Iriele, and many more brothers and sisters who will continue to honor her memory with love.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on — in every life she touched, every seed she planted, and every heart she helped heal.

Rest peacefully, our beautiful Christiana. Your love and light will forever guide us.
