Carolyn "LaVon" Link

Carolyn LaVon Link, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 83, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on January 1, 1942, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Eldon B. Little and Adnah Arian Stone. LaVon’s life was marked by devotion to her family, faith, and the many communities she touched.

LaVon graduated from college and used her education to serve others at a number of schools, including as a kindergarten teacher at Pantego Christian Academy. She also pursued her entrepreneurial spirit, becoming a small business owner at the Brownstone Antique Garden. Her eye for design and love of decorating led her to help many individuals make their homes beautiful, through both professional services and heartfelt personal gifts. LaVon was known for her artistic talents, including handcrafting gifts, calligraphy, and her boundless creativity in arts and crafts. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, showing them affection and creating lifelong memories.

Although she is currently a member of Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, for 35 years, LaVon was an active member of First Baptist Church in Arlington, where she served in numerous roles, including as a Deacon, Bible Study leader, and leader in various mission organizations. Her passion for helping others extended into her work as a youth camp counselor and service on many church committees. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she leaves behind a community that will remember her warmth, wisdom, and dedication to both God and others.

She was married to Larry Link, her loving husband, for 62 years. LaVon was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Little, but leaves behind a legacy that spans generations. She is survived by her children: Jarrod Link and his wife Shannon, Josh Link and his wife Joy, and Katy Link. LaVon was a proud grandmother to Carter Link (wife Annie), Audrey Link, Kyle Link (wife Skylar), Nathan Link, Carson Link, Asher Link, Caroline Link, Link Pritchard, and Reese Pritchard. Her great-grandchildren-Cash and Kane Longoria, Poppy Link, and Charlie Link-brought her great joy in her later years. (To all of her grandchildren, she was known as “Hunny”.)

A service celebrating LaVon’s life will be held on Thursday, August 28, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. followed by her service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the senior adult ministry at First Baptist Church in Arlington, in LaVon’s memory.

LaVon Link will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
