Carol Anne Collins passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2026, at the age of 80.
Service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2026, at St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Fathers Sam Wilgus and Jacob Hootman will officiate.
Carol was born on July 13, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas to Alma Faye and Alvin Glen Cearley. Her family moved to Fort Worth, where she graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1963. She attended Texas Tech University before moving back to Fort Worth, where she met Charles Wayne Collins and they married in August of 1968. Carol worked for and retired from Lockheed Martin after many years.
Mom was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and ceramics. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and made beautiful Christmas stockings for all of us over the years. Her favorite hobby was genealogy and she made wonderful progress tracing our family’s history.
She was a long-time bridge player and also loved to travel, with her favorite destination being the mountains in New Mexico. She was the most thoughtful person; always thinking of everyone else, always looking outside of herself and doing whatever she could to help someone else. We were so lucky to have her.
Survivors: Husband of 57 years, Charles W. Collins of Fort Worth. Son, Colby Collins, and wife, Christine, of Arlington, and their children, Chase, Crede, and Hailey (husband, Brent). Daughter, Kendall Collins Smith, and husband, Martin, of Aledo, and their children, Jack and Lucas. Two darling great-granddaughters, Paisley and Whitley. Brother, Alvin Glen Cearley and wife, Elaine, of Oklahoma. Sister in law, Mary Collins, of Dallas, and her partner, Ric Spiegel.
