Brandon Scott Akins, 44, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on March 25, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1981, in Abilene, Texas.
Brandon was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle whose life was centered around his family. He married the love of his life, Katherine Akins, on July 3, 2004, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering support for their children, Elizabeth and William.
He was a proud and dedicated dad who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his kids. Brandon especially loved watching his son William play baseball and his daughter Elizabeth play volleyball, always showing up as their biggest fan.
Brandon had a deep love for sports, especially baseball. He was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and a passionate supporter of the Texas Longhorns. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors whenever he could, embracing the peace and excitement of nature.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Akins; children, Elizabeth and William; parents, William and Donna Akins; sisters, Stephanie Cook (Bryan) and Heather Akins; and cousin, Rachel Akins (Kim).
Brandon also leaves behind a loving extended family, including in-laws Dan and Judy Phillips; Kim Mizener (Chris); nieces Meagan Peables (Taylor), Adalyn Mizener, and Holland Mizener; and nephews Canyon Cook, Logan Cook, and Parker Mizener.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Wilson, and his beloved grandparents.
A memorial service to celebrate Brandon’s life will be held at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The church is located at 5011 West Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, Texas 76016.
Brandon will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, and his unwavering presence in the lives of those he loved. His legacy lives on through his children and the many memories he created with family and friends.
