Bob McCown

Bobbie James McCown, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. He was born on June 16, 1937, in Weatherford, Texas, to Samuel Foster McCown and Sallie Rice McCown.

Bob lived a life defined by dedication to his family, strong values, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and carried the principles of hard work, integrity, and responsibility throughout his life.

Above all else, Bob cherished his family. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Janet J. McCown, whose companionship and devotion were a source of joy and comfort throughout their years together.

He was a proud and loving father to his children, Diane Sheehan and her husband, Dennis, and Cori McCown. His greatest happiness came from watching his family grow and flourish. He was a devoted grandfather to Eric Coffman, Kandice Carter, and Clinton Quisenberry, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Bobbie is also survived by his brother, Dan McCown, and his sister, Ann Cherry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Foster McCown and Sallie Rice McCown, and his sister, Sarah Mullins.
