BJ Richmond III, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on October 31, 2025, in Burleson, Texas. He was born on February 27, 1947, in Granbury, Texas, to BJ Richmond Jr. and Delphine Kennard.
BJ grew up with a sharp and curious mind that led him to a lifelong love of learning. A proud graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, he went on to discover his true professional passion in computer programming, where he worked diligently for many years until his retirement. His keen intellect and natural aptitude for mathematics and computer science made him a trusted colleague and respected mentor to those fortunate enough to work alongside him.
BJ’s faith was the foundation of his life. A faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and previously Handley United Methodist Church, BJ served his community with quiet devotion and a kind heart. His faith guided him through every season—both joyous and sorrowful—and was a light to all who knew him.
He shared over five decades of love and companionship with his late wife, Judy Mehaffy Richmond, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2023. Together, they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and faith.
BJ is survived by his devoted children, Jay Richmond and Pat and his wife Dawn Richmond; his treasured grandchildren, Taryn, Reid, and Ava; and his loving brothers, Randy and Brian. His family will always remember him as a man of integrity, wisdom, and gentle humor—one who could discuss nearly any topic, from the mysteries of science to the wonders of God’s creation.
Though BJ has departed this earthly life, his spirit lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and intellect. His was a life well-lived, anchored in faith and guided by the assurance of God’s eternal love.
A celebration of BJ’s life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, where he and Judy faithfully worshiped.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, honoring BJ and Judy’s long and joyful commitment to their church family.
