With deep love and a spirit of celebration for a life richly lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Billy Joe Boliver on May 21, 2025 at the age of 93. Born in April of 1932 in Hale Center Texas, Billy was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a decorated United States Army veteran.
Billy served his country with honor from May 22, 1950 to May 21, 1953 during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and dedication — a reflection of his strong character, patriotism, and courage.
Following his military service, Billy built a successful career in the automotive industry, working for many years at General Motors. Known for his diligence, work ethic, and attention to detail, he left a lasting impression on his colleagues and community.
Billy's life outside of work was filled with joy and purpose. He had a passion for the outdoors — boating, fishing and camping at Lake Granbury. He loved bowling, watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys games, and mall walking with his friends. A long-time member and volunteer of Epworth United Methodist Church, Billy’s faith and sense of community were important parts of his life.
He was famous among family and friends for his BBQ chicken on the grill at Easter, and even more so for the warm, welcoming presence he brought to every gathering. Billy found his greatest joy in his family especially time spent with his grandchildren. He was always smiling, happy and kind — the kind of man who never met a stranger.
Billy was survived by his wife of 71 years Adele Boliver, His daughters Dana Gannaway and her husband Bob, Tina Fowler, Sonja DuPuis and Son Brent Boliver and his wife Julie. His Grandchildren Lindsey Zimmermann, Austin Boliver, Caleb Boliver, Mason DuPuis, Amber Gattis, Matt Huchingson and 7 Great grandchildren.
Billy Joe Boliver’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, service, and love lives on in the many lives he touched.
