Beverly Lorene
Wheeler
November 12, 1948 — May 16, 2026
Beverly Lorene Wheeler, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and friend, passed peacefully on May 16, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 77.
Born on November 12, 1948, in Billings, Montana, Beverly was the cherished daughter of Homer and Lorene Thompson. She lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, devotion to family, and service to others. A faithful Catholic, Beverly carried Christ’s love into every aspect of her life, offering kindness, encouragement, and grace to all who knew her.
Beverly earned her Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University and dedicated many years to shaping young lives as an Arlington ISD teacher. She served full-time from 1987 to 2011 and later returned as a substitute teacher from 2013 to 2018. Her commitment to education and the care she showed her students earned her multiple recognitions from the Texas Educators Association for her dedicated service. She believed teaching was not simply a profession, but a calling to guide, uplift, and inspire future generations.
Above all else, Beverly treasured her family. She was a loving mother to Steven Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, and Carrie Wheeler, and a proud and devoted grandmother to Haven Minter, Payten Minter, Gage Hottenstine, Brandon Solis, and Brianna Wheeler. Her grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent cheering them on, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories together.
Beverly is also survived by her brothers, Donald and Douglas Thompson, and her sister, Christine DeVore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lorene Thompson.
Beverly found beauty and happiness in life’s simple blessings. She loved reading, dancing, tending to her beautiful rose gardens, and spending time with those she loved most. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan who especially enjoyed youth baseball and the excitement and togetherness it brought to her family.
Those who knew Beverly will remember her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, warm smile, and servant’s heart. She lived with humility, loved deeply, and gave generously of herself to others. Her life was a reflection of God’s love and goodness, and her legacy will continue through the countless lives she touched.
As Catholics, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Though Beverly’s earthly journey has ended, we trust she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, where sorrow and pain are no more. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in the peace of Christ forever.
