Betty June Newhouse

Betty June Newhouse was born to Lloyd and Pauline Dillow of Telephone, Texas, on June 25, 1937. She was the oldest of five children. Her family was close-knit and gentle in spirit. They valued their faith in God, an ethic of hard and honest work, and a sense of humor and fun.

June, as she was most often called after high school, moved to Fort Worth shortly after graduation and married her childhood sweetheart, Ollie Don Newhouse, on February 10, 1956. They started their family in 1959, and she began a lifetime of devotion to their three children, eventually their eight grandchildren, and finally their four great-grandchildren. Kindness characterized everything she did. Family and friends alike understood that nothing was ever done without consideration for how it impacted others or made them feel.

June was a talented seamstress who sewed love into every stitch of baby clothes, back-to-school wardrobes, prom gowns, bridal attire, quilts, and home decor. She loved crafting and found joy in creating beautiful and meaningful things for those she loved.

June and her husband Don were active members of the Lone Star Region of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America for many years. They made many lasting friendships and traveled with friends throughout the years. Celebrating holidays, parades and other events often included their children and grandchildren. June and Don served as officers for many years, and she was notably the editor of the Bowtie Bulletin, the monthly newsletter, for a number of years.

June was also a member of the Church of Christ. She was strong in the faith in which she was raised and committed to her Christianity throughout her life. Her actions and the way she lived her life were evidence of her core beliefs.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Eurek (Michael) and grandchildren Johnathan Taylor (Christina), Allison Taylor and Lex Pacheco (Steven); son Jeff Newhouse (Claire) and grandchildren Melanie Newhouse (Brian) and Michael Newhouse; daughter Christy Thomas (Jim) and granddaughter Carly Skinner (Cody), great-grandchildren Gunner, Pacey, Titus and Hadley, and grandsons Dylan Harris and Collin Harris; sisters Frances Gail Staggers (Duane) and Ruth Ann Hurst (Bill).

June was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Don Newhouse, and brothers John Paul Dillow and Joe David Dillow.
