Betty Marie Crymes

February 27, 1938 — October 16, 2026

Betty Marie Pippen Crymes passed away peacefully and went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16,2026. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, know more affectionately as Memaw. Betty was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on February 27, 1938 to parents Ora and Lonnie Pippen who proceeded her in death.

Betty was a graduate of Northside High School where she met the love of her life, Don Crymes. They were married in August of 1956 and enjoyed life, 2 children, Donice and Don, and grandchildren until the unexpected passing of Don in 1991. They had 35 wonderful years together, but he remained the one and only true love of Betty's life and she remained devoted to him for the next 35 years and she looked forward to that reunion with him in Heaven.

After Don's passing, Betty joined a group called Widow Persons Services that help to support those grieving loss of their spouse. They were a tremendous gift to her and before you knew it she was actively involved and was helping by sharing her experience, arranging hospitality gatherings and supporting others in the way she had been supported during her grief. She did this for many years and some of her closest friends became women who had experienced the same loss. She had also stayed connected to friends from Northside and the Castleberry group. She enjoyed visiting with, traveling with and playing many a card game with these wonderful friends.

Besides her husband, her greatest loves were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would say that she was blessed to have lived long enough to enjoy them all and we were blessed to have her.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, Ora and Lonnie, and brother Jack Pippen. She is survived by her daughter, Donice Loe, and her husband, Steve, and her son, Don Crymes, and his wife, Beth. Grandchildren, Tyler Loe, Brady Loe (Mandy), Don Thomas Crymes (Nyki) and Amy Crymes Swilley (Hunter). Great grandchildren, Trace, Stevi, Emma and Masyn Loe, Carson, Easton and Peyton Crymes and Gunner and Knox Swilley. Nieces, Nita, Sandy and Shari Pippen and nephew, BJ Pippen, 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew and 1 great, great niece.
