Betty Catherine Cloud

Betty Catherine Cloud, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully after a life devoted to her family, her students, and the many people whose lives she touched through her kindness and dedication.

Betty was born on May 5, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to James Frank McGrath and Frances Davidson McGrath. She grew up surrounded by family and carried those close family bonds with her throughout her life.

Betty earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from North Texas State University and went on to dedicate 38 years of her life to elementary education. She held teaching positions with Henrietta ISD, Aubrey ISD, and Everman ISD, where her commitment to her students and passion for teaching earned her numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career. She was proud of the difference she was able to make in the lives of the children she taught and remained connected to the educational community through the Everman Retired Teachers Association.

While Betty was a dedicated educator, her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife to Thomas J. Cloud Jr. and a devoted mother to her daughter, Lisa Catherine Campetti, and her husband, Adam. Her three grandchildren, Wyatt, Pierson, and Leah Campetti, held a particularly special place in her heart. Betty cherished every opportunity to care for them, spend time with them, and watch them grow. Her love for her daughter and grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Betty also had a special love for cooking. She enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved and took great pleasure in caring for her family through the food she prepared. When she wasn't in the kitchen, she could often be found watching cooking shows and her favorite soap operas.

Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Jody Jones, and her brother, James “Jim” McGrath. She leaves behind her loving family, including her husband, Thomas J. Cloud Jr.; her daughter, Lisa Catherine Campetti and husband Adam; her three grandchildren, Wyatt Campetti, Pierson Campetti, and Leah Campetti; her brother, Tom McGrath; her sister-in-law, Judy Wilde and husband Gary; sister-in-law, Jo Marie Clark and sister-in-law Ann McGrath; her nephew, Michael Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember her with love.

Betty's life was defined by the love she gave to others. Whether through her years as an educator, the meals she lovingly prepared, or the countless moments she shared with her family, she had a way of making those around her feel cared for. Her legacy will live on through the family she cherished and the many students whose lives she helped shape.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will then be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Emerald Hills Cemetery in Kennedale, Texas.

Betty Catherine Cloud will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
