Obituary

Barbara Ann Thomas, age 84, of Euless, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2026, after a brief illness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family, friends, and career.

Born in 1942 at Florence Nightengale Maternity Hospital in Dallas, she was the daughter of Carlton and Peggy Smith. Barbara grew up in Dallas, where she developed the warmth, strength, and gracious spirit that would define her throughout her life. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1964, where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, forming lifelong friendships and treasured memories. Barbara pursued a career in accounting, which led to a successful career in the banking industry. Additionally, after retiring she worked extensively for Alpha Phi sorority on a national level in Evanston, IL and on a local level at TCU and the University of North Texas.

Outside of work, Barbara found her greatest happiness in the simple joys of life, especially reading every chance she got. She adored her dogs, Mai Tai and Mizzie, whose companionship brought her endless comfort and happiness. She also cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family in Texas and Alabama. Whether sharing stories, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying one another’s company, family and friends were always at the center of her life. She enjoyed the time well spent with her dear friends and shared lots of laughter and good times with them.

Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, sharp mind, and unwavering love for those closest to her. Her warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, loyalty, and grace will never be forgotten.
