Barbara Anne Burzynski was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed away at the age of 91, on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Medical City Arlington from sepsis due to a perforated colon. We are grateful it was not a prolonged illness. She is in a beautiful place now with Jesus, her beloved husband, and friends and family who loved her and passed away.
Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan to Louis and Marie Jedlick. She had 6 siblings, of which her sisters Kathy and Judy are alive and reside in Michigan. Barbara married her husband, Anthony John Burzynski on November 28, 1959 in Detroit Michigan at Saint Valentine Catholic Church, celebrating 63 years of marriage until her husband’s recent passing December 30, 2022. She was a homemaker and together they raised four beautiful, talented daughters (Cherie, Roseanne, Maria, and Michele) and she was blessed with four beloved grandchildren (William, Zachary, Luken, and Jayden).
Barbara’s artistic and creative spirit was evident her whole life with painting, calligraphy, ceramics, cake decorating, sewing, crocheting, singing, and dancing. Before her vision became impaired with macular degeneration, she was a phenomenal cook who always had the recipes in her head. She would make dough from scratch, toss it up in the air, and cook homemade pizza for her daughter’s birthday parties and sleepovers. She baked and decorated designer cakes for all occasions. She enjoyed family gatherings and good food. She was always the life of a party, entertaining and making new friends. She was very supportive of her children and raised her daughters to be strong women with vision and purpose. She loved Elvis Presley music and watching Hallmark movies. She was very active her whole life and her last few years she enjoyed water aerobics at The Summit in Grand Prairie. We took our annual summer family trip to Galveston in July and Barbara loved swimming in the ocean. She will be forever in our hearts, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire creativity and living life to the fullest.
Her ashes will be laid to rest in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with her late husband, Anthony Burzynski, First Sergeant (E8) and decorated Army veteran.
