Audie Monnett Brannon, a beloved husband and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at the age of 68. Born May 28, 1956, in Mexia, Texas, Audie lived a life full of passion, hard work, and devotion to those he loved.
Audie first worked as a mechanic and later worked for 31 years on the assembly line at General Motors before retiring.
A lover of motorcycles, when Audie was younger, he spent countless hours enjoying the country roads on his bike. Audie's favorite getaway was at his lake house in East Texas, where he spent many quiet afternoons and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Audie was also a fan of classic rock music from the 1960s & 1970s, with Creedence Clearwater Revival & Jimmy Buffet being among his favorites.
Audie's family was his greatest joy. His wife Susan stood by his side through every season of life. Their love was an enduring bond that will never be broken. His immediate family knew him as Monty, a name that reflected his warmth despite his gruff exterior.
Audie was preceded in death by his parents, Hancel and Denita Brannon, and his brother, Benny Brannon. Survivors include wife, Susan Brannon, sister, D'Ann Etheridge and husband Craig, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brannon and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Audie's life will be held at Wade Chapel on November 22, 2024, with Visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
