Artie Gilbert Sanders I

Artie Gilbert Sanders I, age 82, passed away at his home on September 29th, 2025. He was surrounded by those who loved him and were at his side till he drew his last breath. Art was born on March 8, 1943, in Overton, TX to Artie and Margaret Sanders.

He attended London High School in Overton, TCJC, and Kilgore College. Following his education, Art worked at Vought Aircraft for 46 years until his retirement in 2012. Art loved his family and provided well for them. He adored his wife, Fran, and they shared many beautiful memories together. He gave his life to Christ in January 2025 and basked in His love for the last remaining months of his life. We give God all the glory for Art’s rededication and are looking forward to seeing him again in heaven.

Survivors include, son Gill Sanders (wife Preet), Grandchildren: Shoshana (husband David), Skyler (wife Sailhy), Francis (spouse Anthony), Pierce, and great grandson, Oliver. Art was preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. Sanders and daughter, Rhea Sanders.

Services will be private as the family has requested.
