Anthony (Tony) Joseph McCoy, age 65, passed away at his home in Burleson, Texas, on June 21, 2025. He was born on November 11, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, to Mary Jo DiPasquale McCoy and Orville Patrick McCoy.

Tony spent most of his childhood in Texas and graduated from Bowie High School in Arlington, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. His talents on the football field earned him a place on the football team at St. Mary’s of the Plains College in Kansas. He later completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Alongside his athletic accomplishments, Tony was a gifted musician and could play the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and harmonica. He performed with several classic rock and praise cover bands over the years. Additionally, he independently composed and produced many beautiful pieces in the new age/classical genre. He gave back to the arts community as a board member of Timeless Concerts, helping to foster a love for live music and artistic expression in others.

Tony dedicated his nearly 50-year career to the truss and construction industry, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients for his expertise, work ethic, and integrity.

Tony is survived by his beloved daughters, Meghan Caskey (Jerred) of Godley, and Alexandra McCoy (Rodrigo Musuruana) of Dallas; and by his cherished grandchildren: Gracie Jo, Lyndie, Jerred Jr., Keagan, and Zoe—children of Meghan and Jerred; and Olivia and Clara—children of Alexandra and Rodrigo. He is also survived by his loving spouse, Dana McKelvain of Burleson; his devoted parents, Mary Jo and Orville McCoy of Arlington; his brother, Patrick McCoy (Liisa) of Mansfield; his sister, Diana Adams of Phoenix, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Tony is also remembered by his former spouse and the mother of his daughters, Kathy McCoy of Arlington. He held a special bond with Dana’s children, Jordyn and Carter McKelvain (Meagan), and was a proud Nonno to Dana’s grandchildren, Crew, Carter V., and Millie Rae McKelvain—children of Carter and Meagan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rosina and Vincent DiPasquale, and his paternal grandparents, Orville Eugene McCoy and Ida Calvert.

A service celebrating Tony’s life will be held on August 2, 2025, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, located at 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76013, with a rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the church’s columbarium. A luncheon reception will be held immediately after the service, and all family and friends are invited to attend.

Tony will be remembered as an all-American athlete, a passionate and talented musician, a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a loving husband. His infectious smile and playful spirit lit up every room, and his warmth and humor touched all who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to support continued research and treatment at the hospitals that cared for him during his battle with appendix cancer.
