Amy Nicol Smith

Amy Nicol Smith passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 56 years old.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, Texas 76017.

Amy was born on July 3, 1969, in Irving, Texas, to Nancy (Carpenter) Tomlinson and Walter Tomlinson. She grew up with a strong work ethic, determination, and a deep love for family—qualities that would define her throughout her life.

Amy was the beloved wife of Charles "Chuck" Smith and a devoted mother. She dedicated herself to raising her children while pursuing her education and career. Her perseverance and commitment to excellence were evident as she attended college while raising her family, ultimately earning an Associate of Arts degree from Tarrant County College and a Bachelor of Science degree from UT Southwestern. Amy graduated as the valedictorian of her class at UT Southwestern and was recognized multiple times on the Dean's List, accomplishments that reflected both her intelligence and extraordinary determination.

For 14 years, Amy worked at Cornea Associates of Texas, where she was a valued colleague and dedicated professional. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding service, work ethic, and contributions to the organization.

Amy possessed a remarkable creativity that touched every aspect of her life. If she wanted something, she could make it herself. She had a gift for transforming ordinary materials into something beautiful and useful, and she was always searching for the next great bargain. Family and friends affectionately knew her as a professional thrifter, capable of finding hidden treasures wherever she went. She also had a deep love for the ocean, finding peace and joy whenever she could be near the water.

Above all else, Amy treasured time with her family and loved ones. Whether celebrating special occasions or enjoying simple everyday moments, she found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved. Her kindness, creativity, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parent, Nancy (Carpenter) and Walter Tomlinson; son, Brandon Lee; and other family members, Woody Smith, Ray Yeager, Jr., Kathy Scott, Elberta and Howard Carroll, Edna Lee and Robert Charlie, Margie Smith, and Shannon Smith.

Amy leaves behind her husband, Charles “Chuck” Smith; children, Brady Smith, Hope Henslee and husband, Nathan, and Cody Smith and wife, Chanelle; grandchildren, Kane, Aubrey, Hensley, Haylen, Ryker, and Aspen; sister, April Gent and husband, Scott; and numerous nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Amy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, love, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
