Amber Brianne Dodge

Amber Brianne Dodge of Newport News, VA passed away unexpectedly in her mother’s home in Arlington, TX on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Amber was born on March 9, 1994, in Newport News, VA to Brian Dodge and Sunshine Welsby. Amber spent most of her childhood in Newport News and graduated from Menchville High School in the class of 2012. She enjoyed many activities, including riding her fixed-gear bicycle and creating artwork. Amber was a talented artist and excelled at drawing and painting. She would turn anything from a piece of paper to canvas to wood into her artwork.

Amber was wed to Alexander Kilmon on June 25, 2014. She and Alex welcomed their first child, Nathan Kilmon, in Pearl City, HI on June 29, 2017. Their second child, Laine Kilmon, was born on September 18, 2018, in Newport News, VA.

Amber was an outgoing person. Able to talk to anyone, she would do anything for those around her. She found joy when she was surrounded by people or animals, or both. She was loved by many and loved them all in return, no one more than her two children.

Amber is survived by her parents, Brian (53) and Sunshine (50), her older brother, Cameron Dodge (33), her younger brother, Travis Dodge (25), her husband, Alex Kilmon (34), her, son Nathan (7), her daughter, Laine (6), her aunt and uncle on her father’s side, Sandra (60) and Lonnie White (62), her aunt on her mother’s side, Vernay Reber (53), her uncles on her mother’s side Eric Mahler (47) and Brett Roberts (40), several cousins including John Michael Hall (34) and Brandon Rhodes (32), and a multitude of people that she would claim as her extended family.

Amber, you will be missed by everyone who knew you. Your passing left holes in so many hearts that will never be filled. Even when there was distance between us, the world was a better place with you in it. You are and will always be loved.
