Alma Ruth Schultz was born on October 16, 1930 in Charleston, Texas, to Ernest and Verda Mae Viser. Ruth went to be with her Lord on December 15, 2025.
Ruth loved music, playing the piano, singing in trios and the church choir. She began singing at church at a very young age and her and her cousins would go to different churches and sing. Ruth enjoyed serving the Lord and they sang and had a program every Sunday morning on the KPLT radio station in Paris, Texas. For several years they traveled with Evangelist, Odell Little, and a Holiness Gospel band.
Ruth married Weldon Schultz in February of 1949 and they eventually settled in Arlington, Texas. Ruth loved being a housewife and mother to her two children, Ronnie and Linda. She loved to sew and made a lot of Linda’s clothes. She always looked the best. Linda one day asked if she could buy some clothes. She got tired of homemade things. The family loved going to watch Ronnie play baseball. We thought he was a really good player.
Weldon and Ruth were longtime members of Arlington First Church of the Nazarene, starting when it began with James Robertson and would probably be recorded as one of the oldest living members until she passed away.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Verna Viser and her husband, Weldon.
Ruth is survived by her son, Ronnie and wife Teresa; daughter Linda and husband, Stan and eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
