Application for survivor benefits can be arranged through the
Veteran's Administration Office in Waco at:

Veteran's Benefits include:
- Funeral and cemetery allowance if applicable
- A United States Flag
- Marker memorialization (excluding installation)
- Dependency and indemnity compensation (Paid to widow and minor
children of a veteran who dies in military service or as a result of
a disability incurred in such service.)
- Death pension (Paid to eligible widows and dependents of a
wartime veteran who died from disabilities not related to his
military service.)
The following documentation will be required for appropriate
application of benefits:
- Certified copy of veteran's military discharge
form number DD 214
- Original or certified copy of marriage certificate
- Certified copy of death certificate
- Original or certified copy of birth certificates of children
under 18, or older attending school or helpless before 18th birthday
- If there were previous marriages on either side, original or
certified copy of divorce decree or death certificate
- VA claim number if one has been issued
- VA insurance policy or number
- Social Security numbers of veteran, spouse, and children, and
original or current award letter, statement of other pension, annuity
etc.
- Funeral and/or cemetery property bills (only paid bills accepted)
