Obituary for Ben Durall Jr.

Ben Durall Jr.
Ben David Durall, Jr. of Arlington, Texas passed away April 19th, 2017 at Arlington Memorial Hospital.

He was born on New Year's Day, 1947 in Ft. Bragg, NC. and was an "Army Brat" who grew up in Germany, Longview, Tx., and Odessa, Tx. He was a proud graduate of Odessa Permian High School in 1966 where he played in the band called The Roadrunners. The band traveled the Southwest area in the 60's and toured with Dick Clark's "Caravan of Stars" as an opening act for the Beach Boys, Mitch Ryder, and others.

Ben moved to Arlington in 1969 and pursued a career as a salesman in the soft drink and wine industries. He married his wife of 41 years, Pamela McKee Durall, on February 28, 1976 and made Arlington their permanent residence.

Until his passing, Ben was an active guitarist and musician who enjoyed performing at multiple venues in the Metroplex area. He was fond of all animals, most especially birds, and was always close to his pets.

He had many friends and enjoyed entertaining them at his home. He loved his country, his wife, his sons, his family, and his many friends.
He will be missed by his family, friends, and the local music community.

In lieu of flowers, his request would be donations made to the Arlington Animal Shelter and/or Texas Musicians' Museum in Irving, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Pam, sons Ben David Durall,III and Rick Lange, sisters Judy Smith and Tammie Thomas, and many cousins and friends.
